Gerald Mervin Vanenburg (born March 5, 1964 in Utrecht ) is a former Dutch football player and current coach .

He played 42 times for the Dutch national football team , with whom he won the European Championship in 1988 . He played for Ajax Amsterdam (until 1986), PSV Eindhoven (1986–1993), Júbilo Iwata (1993–1996), FC Utrecht (1997), AS Cannes (1997–1998) and TSV 1860 Munich (1998–2000). In 1982, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992 he was Dutch champion and in 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990 Dutch cup winner. In 1988 he won the national championship with PSV Eindhoven. In 2001 he was assistant coach at TSV 1860 Munich for a few weeks under Peter Pacult , but then resigned from this position himself. From April 2004 to June 2004 he was the coach of 1860 Munich, but could not prevent relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga.
