The 1. FC Michelau is an association founded in 1909 German sports club based in the Bavarian municipality of Michelau in Upper Franconia in the district of Lichtenfels .
history
Founded until World War II
The association was founded in 1909 and was given a seat on May 19th. The club's first football match took place there on June 6th of the same year. The opponent was FC Lichtenfels , who won the game 7-1. For the 1913/14 season , the team rose to the Gau South Thuringia within the Central German Championship of the VMBV . However, the team did not play a single game there. During the First World War , the club's game operations were maintained by the Kickers , with whom the club also merged on December 23, 1918 after the end of the war. The next year the sports field was relocated to Bahnhofstrasse.
In the 1923/24 season and the 1927/28 season, the club was then champion in the Lower Franconia district league , but the club failed to rise in both seasons. In 1933, the club then took on the members of the dissolved workers' sports club. During the Second World War , gaming operations came to a relative standstill. In the 1944/45 season , however, the club was allowed to compete in the Gauliga Bayern . However, nothing is known about games played this season.
post war period
After the end of the war, the first game against Gaustadt took place on November 11, 1945 , but was lost 3-1. With the championship in the 1948/49 season, the next season was promoted to the district league Upper Franconia West. After the season 1952/53 it went higher in the 1st Amateur League Bavaria . The first season there the team was able to keep the division with 23:33 points over 12th place. After the 1954/55 season it worked with 31:17 points but then even with third place. The time in the 1st amateur league ended with the end of the two-track league after the 1962/63 season , due to 13th place and 28:36 points, the club had to relegate to the Bavarian regional league for the next season. After that, the club played again and again in the District League West and in the A-Class.
Current time
In the 2004/05 season the club played in the district class - Coburg / Kronach district and was able to achieve second place with 70 points. After repeatedly top places, however, it was never enough for the ascent. After the 2014/15 season, he even took part in a relegation game against SpVgg Dietersdorf with only 26 points and 13th place, which, however, was won 4-2. After the 2016/17 season, the team had to relegate with 23 points over 15th place. The following season in the A-class, however, the team was able to finish immediately with 76 points and the championship and thus rose again to the district class. So the team still plays in the district class today.
