Jean Zimmer (born December 6, 1993 in Bad Dürkheim ) is a German football player who is under contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf .
Career
societies
In 2004, Zimmer got into the youth department of 1. FC Kaiserslautern through SV Bann , with whose A-youth he was German runner -up in 2010/11 .
After signing a professional contract for the 2013/14 season , he was appointed to the first team's squad several times, also due to Florian Riedel's injury , but initially only played in the second team. He made his professional debut on December 23, 2013 in a 2-1 away win against FC Ingolstadt , when he came on for Jan Šimůnek in the 56th minute . In the 3-2 away win against FC St. Pauli on April 11, 2014, he made his starting line-up debut and played the full 90 minutes of play. The following week he made his DFB Cup debut on April 16 , when he played the entire game in the semi-final away game against Bayern Munich .
For the 2016/17 season Zimmer moved to the second division VfB Stuttgart . He signed a contract that ran until 2020. For the 2017/18 season, the Stuttgart company awarded Zimmer to Fortuna Düsseldorf , who acquired the transfer rights to Zimmer after promotion to the Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season and provided him with a contract that runs until June 30, 2022. In the 2-1 home win against Borussia Dortmund on December 18, 2018, the 16th matchday of the 2018/19 Bundesliga season, Zimmer scored his first Bundesliga goal from a long distance for Düsseldorf, which was voted Goal of the Month .
National team
Zimmer played once in the German U-17 team in April 2009 . On November 13, 2014, he made his debut against the Netherlands in the German U-21 national team . Another deployment followed in March 2015.
