Davor Lovren (born October 3, 1998 in Munich ) is a Croatian soccer player . He is under contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf .

Career

Lovren, younger brother of Croatian central defender Dejan Lovren , started his professional career in the First Croatian Football League for Dinamo Zagreb , where he made his debut in a game on May 14, 2016 against NK Lokomotiva Zagreb .

In the summer of 2017 he was loaned to Fortuna Düsseldorf with a purchase option , for which he scored on December 15, 2017 against Eintracht Braunschweig in the 9th minute to the 1-0 final result. This was his first goal in the 2nd Bundesliga and it made him the youngest scorer in this league. On July 11, 2018, Fortuna signed a contract with him until 2023. For the 2019/20 season , Lovren was transferred to the second team, for which he had already played 4 times in the fourth-class Regionalliga West in the preseason . At the beginning of January 2020 he was loaned to the Croatian club NK Slaven Belupo for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. Lovren played five games for Slaven Belupo. After the interruption of game operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic , he was no longer in the matchday squad until the end of the season and then returned to Fortuna Düsseldorf for the new season.
