Elite school of football
Elite School of Football is a certificate awarded by the German Football Association (DFB) , which is awarded for the promotion of the parallel sporting and school education of youth players in schools in a cooperative network with clubs and associations .
For the first time, the certificate, which is associated with variable funding, was awarded to the Lausitzer Sportschule in Cottbus on September 15, 2006 . The aim of the football association is to create a network of elite schools that support the training of potential professional football players in the sporting and school sectors within the framework of cooperation with youth performance centers of the clubs, among other things through flexible school times and exam dates , and thus contribute to the development of young talent at the DFB. The 18-point catalog of criteria for awarding the certificate includes, among other things, a school conference resolution on performance-oriented school sport promotion, the assignment of football coaches from the club to football lessons and extracurricular support for youth players as well as infrastructural requirements.
Among the currently 29 certified elite schools are four schools or school associations in Bad Neuenahr, Kamen, Saarbrücken and Potsdam that have been recognized for their work in the field of girls' football, while the five schools in Hamburg, Freiburg, Jena, Leverkusen, Magdeburg and Neunkirchen both boys as well as promoting girls and all others have been certified for their work in boys' football. The comparatively high proportion of schools from the new federal states is also due to the children's and youth sports schools in the GDR.
