The Walter Klingenbeck School is located in the immediate vicinity of the S-Bahn line from Munich to Holzkirchen at the Taufkirchen Sports and Leisure Park. It was built as a state secondary school in 1978 and is designed as an open all-day school. It is named after the resistance fighter against National Socialism Walter Klingenbeck (1924–1943). In addition to a sufficient number of classrooms and multi-purpose rooms, the school has two specialist lecture rooms each for physics, chemistry and works and three IT rooms with internet access. There are three sports halls and a large sports facility available for sports. You also have access to the Taufkirchen sports center. When the old building was in disrepair, the gymnasium was replaced by a new building in 2011 and the old school building in 2014.

In the 2016/2017 school year, 970 pupils were taught in 37 classes by 67 full-time teachers. The open all-day school applies to the 5th - 8th grades except Friday . There are support courses in German, English, mathematics and business administration / accounting (BwR). In addition to the school game, choir, school band and the AG Technology as optional lessons, Differentiated Sport is compulsory for all students. In mathematics, the school participates in the creative SINUS project.
