The Kraichgau-Realschule is a general school in Sinsheim , Baden-Württemberg .

overview

In 1994, 800 students visited the facility and the buildings were expanded in the following years. In the 2007/2008 school year, the Kraichgau Realschule was the largest public Realschule in Baden-Württemberg with 1122. In the 2016/2017 school year, 845 students attended this secondary school. The Kraichgau Realschule thus recorded a decrease in the number of pupils by 24.6 percent, a decrease that is well above the state trend of 9.9 percent.

According to the mission statement of the school "GIBSEL - Together, Always Better Student-Parent-Teacher", attempts are made to maintain close contact between students, teachers and parents. A school party is held every year under this motto. A GIBSEL yearbook was published up to around 2003, which provided information on the activities. Since the school year 2012/2013 there has been an external class of the Steinsberg School at the Kraichgau Realschule , which is sometimes taught inclusive with a regular class.

Sports school

In the 2008/09 school year, the Kraichgau Realschule was named an elite football school by the DFB and the Conference of Ministers of Education in a network with other schools in Sinsheim . There are currently 29 elite schools or school associations in Germany with this certificate. This enables young football talents to complete additional training units on two mornings. The school's partner club is Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . The Kraichgau-Realschule is also a partner school for sports and works very closely with the cooperation partners TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, a regional salsa club and the dance club "Rot-Gold". Since the school year 2009/2010, the school has been a pilot school for the project “secondary school with a sports and exercise-oriented focus” (WSB) of the State Institute for School Sports, School Art and School Music Baden-Württemberg. However, the certification is still pending.

cooperation

A cooperation agreement is used to maintain a cooperation with the clinic and the Sinsheim care center of the GRN (Health Centers Rhein-Neckar non-profit GmbH), which makes it possible time and again to invite students to the GRN facilities as part of the themed projects "Social Commitment" and "Professional Orientation" to post.

Participation in school competitions and political education projects

The school regularly takes part in student competitions organized by the Federal Agency for Political Education and the State Agency for Political Education in Baden-Württemberg . In 2013, class 7b took first place and won a class trip to Dresden . The Kraichgau-Realschule also participates in the junior election project of the Federal Agency for Civic Education. The 2013 elections in grades 8 to 10 resulted in the second votes: CDU 27 percent, SPD 17.6 percent, Greens 13.1 percent, pirates 11.6 percent and the FDP 7.9 percent, Left 6.2 percent, NPD 6.2 percent, AfD 2.7 percent. In November 2013, the traveling exhibition "Strengthening Democracy - Fighting Right-Wing Extremism" took place at the Kraichgau-Realschule.

Arson

In 2012 there was a fire at the secondary school. The facade was damaged by arson. Former students of the school were also involved.
