Fabian Holthaus (born January 17, 1995 in Hamm ) is a German football player . The defender is under contract with FC Viktoria Köln .

Career

societies

Through SVF Herringen 03 and Hammer SpVg , Holthaus got into the VfL Bochum youth center in 2010 and moved up to the second team three seasons later, for which he was used in the Regionalliga West . After Holthaus had played through all of VfL Bochum's youth teams, he made his professional debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on May 19, 2013 (34th matchday) when he lost 2-1 at home to 1.FC Union Berlin in the 75th division. Minute for Aleksandre Iaschwili was substituted on. On June 10, 2015, he signed a three-year contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf. In order to gain gaming experience, he was loaned to Dynamo Dresden on January 25, 2016 for the rest of the season . In 11 games he was able to prove himself there.

For the 2016/17 season he moved to Hansa Rostock in the 3rd division , where he initially played the first six league games and the DFB Cup match against his former employer Fortuna Düsseldorf (0: 3). He received further match practice in 2016 with Hansa Rostock II in the major league . From the 21st game day of this season, Holthaus was regularly used by coach Christian Brand in third division play. In the end he made 23 appearances and one goal. He was also used four times in the national cup , which he ultimately won. In the final, MSV Pampow was defeated 3-1. Under the new Hansa trainer Pavel Dotchev , Holthaus became a top performer and regular player. He was used in 37 of a possible 38 third division games in 2017/18. In addition, there was the DFB Cup game in the first main round against Bundesliga club Hertha BSC (0: 2) and three appearances in the state cup. He won this for the second time. With a title win in the last game and 6th place in the league , Holthaus from Rostock said goodbye.

In October 2018, Holthaus signed a contract with Energie Cottbus that was initially valid until the end of the third division 2018/19 season after participating in team training for a long time . After the relegation of Cottbus, Holthaus moved to the third division promoted FC Viktoria Köln .

National team

On May 25, 2014 Holthaus scored his first international goal when he won 2-0 with the U19 national team in Vigo against the selection of Lithuania. It was his tenth international match for this national team; Before that, he played in both the U17 and U18 national teams of the DFB .
