André Weis (born September 30, 1989 in Boppard ) is a German football player . He plays in the position of goalkeeper and is under contract with FC Viktoria Köln .

Career

Weis played in his youth for Germania Metternich , SG 99 Andernach and FV Rübenach. In 2007 he switched to the youth of TuS Koblenz . In the 2008/09 season , Weis was a substitute goalkeeper on the bench for Koblenz in some games in the 2nd Bundesliga . After this season he moved to SV Wilhelmshaven . In the 2009/10 season Weis came to 32 missions in the Regionalliga Nord . For the 2010/11 season he returned to TuS Koblenz and completed nine professional appearances in the 3rd professional league .

After TuS Koblenz had not received a license for the 2011/12 season in the 3rd division for financial reasons , Weis signed a contract with the second team of VfB Stuttgart on June 20, 2011, which ran until the end of June 2012. Due to his 15th season appearance in the 3rd division, the term was extended to June 2013.

After Bernd Leno left VfB Stuttgart in August 2011, Weis took his place as regular goalkeeper of the second team and as the third goalkeeper of the Bundesliga team. In the first half of the 2011/12 season he achieved the best grade average of all goalkeepers in the 3rd division in the rating list of the kicker sports magazine . On February 17, 2012, he extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart until the end of June 2014.

For the 2013/14 season , Weis moved to FC Ingolstadt 04 . From the 2015/16 season he played for the second division club FSV Frankfurt ; his contract ran until 2018. In Frankfurt he went as a regular goalkeeper in the 2015/16 season .

For the 2016/17 season he moved to the second division club 1. FC Kaiserslautern and signed a contract until 2019. Weis started the season as the designated goalkeeper. After being sent off on matchday 4, he was replaced by Julian Pollersbeck , who from then on kept his regular seat. After Weis was only considered as a substitute goalkeeper at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, he was loaned out to league competitor SSV Jahn Regensburg in early August 2017 . After the relegation of FCK Weis' contract there had become invalid, Regensburg signed the goalkeeper with a contract until 2020. In the 2017/18 season , Weis was only second goalkeeper behind Philipp Pentke and only made four appearances in the following season in the Bayern League .

In January 2020 Weis moved to third division club FC Viktoria Köln , where he is supposed to replace the injured Daniel Mesenhöler .
