Kevin Holzweiler (born October 16, 1994 in Jülich ) is a German soccer player .

Club career

Youth and career start at Borussia Mönchengladbach

Kevin Holzweiler moved from SpVgg Jackerath-Opherten to the youth team at Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2002 . There he went through all youth teams. He made his debut for the 2nd team on July 27, 2013 on the first day of the fourth-class Regionalliga West . In this 4-1 home win against the U23 from VfL Bochum , he was substituted on eleven minutes before the end. For the first time in the starting XI, Holzweiler was on the third matchday against FC Viktoria Köln . With Borussia Mönchengladbach II, Holzweiler won the Regionalliga West in 2015 , but failed in the subsequent promotion round to the 3rd division to Werder Bremen II . He played in 73 games from 2013 to 2016, scoring 14 goals.

Regular player and promotion with Viktoria Köln

For the 2016/17 season, Holzweiler moved to league competitor Viktoria Köln. He made his debut for Viktoria on July 29, 2016 against Wuppertaler SV . Holzweiler also played in the first round game of the DFB Cup 2016/17 against 1. FC Nürnberg , which was lost after a penalty shoot-out. With Viktoria Köln Holzweiler became champion of the Regionalliga West 2017 . In the promotion round to the 3rd division, however, the club failed due to the away goal rule at FC Carl Zeiss Jena .

Holzweiler won the Middle Rhine Cup 2017/18 with Vikoria Cologne . In the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons , he didn't miss a minute in the league and was able to win the 2018/19 regional league championship, which means he was promoted to the third division with Viktoria Köln.

On July 20, 2019, Holzweiler played the full distance in the first third division game in the club's history and contributed with a goal to the 3-3 draw at Hansa Rostock , which was presented in the sports show for goal of the month .
