The Middle Rhine Cup 2017/18 was the 26th edition in football - Middle Rhine Cup of men, from the Association of Football Middle Rhine organized. The competition was named Bitburger Cup after a sponsor. The winner qualified for the first main round of the DFB-Pokal 2018/19 . In the final, FC Viktoria Köln won 2-0 after extra time against Alemannia Aachen .

The Middle Rhine Cup will be held in the knockout system . There is one game in each round. When a game is tied after 90 minutes, the game is two 15-minute extended . If after that still no decision has been made, a penalty shoot-out follows . The team in the lower class has home rights up to and including the semi-finals. An exception are the district cup winners in the first round, who have home rights as a reward for their title in the first round. All rounds are drawn from a single lottery pot without restrictions. An exception is the first round, in which neither the district cup winners nor the team from the same circle can meet. This does not apply to the higher-class clubs that do not take part in the district cups ( 3rd division and Regionalliga West ). The final has been held in the Sportpark Nord in Bonn since 2012 .

For the Mittelrheinpokal 2017/18, the clubs from the association area that played in the 3rd league and the Regionalliga West 2017/18 automatically qualified . In addition, there were the top three teams from the district cup competitions in the districts of Cologne, Bonn, Sieg, Berg, Euskirchen, Rhein-Erft, Aachen, Düren and Heinsberg.
