St. Mary Sorrowful Mother, Rooster

In 1261 Hahn was first mentioned as part of the imperial abbey Kornelimünster , because a "pious Anna" gave the Marienkapelle in Hahn an annual pension . In the French times , the place belonged to Mairie Walheim in the canton of Burtscheid of the Département de la Roer .

In 1804 Hahn was raised to an independent parish together with the neighboring Friesenrath. Hahn came to Prussia in 1816 and was part of the municipality of Walheim in the Aachen district until it came to Aachen on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reorganization and has since been part of the Aachen district of Kornelimünster / Walheim . In 1973 the post office was closed.

The first school was built in Hahn at Dorfstrasse 16 in 1830, the Hahn waterworks in 1929/1930 and the Hahn sewerage system from 1988 to 1993. The school was closed in 1968 as part of the North Rhine-Westphalian school reform. The inauguration of the Vennbahn in 1885 resulted in an upswing in the lime industry in Hahn and the surrounding area.
