Lindenthal is the district 3 of the city of Cologne . It includes the districts of Braunsfeld , Junkersdorf , Klettenberg , Lindenthal , Lövenich , Müngersdorf , Sülz , Weiden and Widdersdorf . With more than 150,000 inhabitants, it is the most populous of the nine districts of Cologne.
The incorporation of the districts Braunsfeld, Klettenberg, Lindenthal, Müngersdorf and Sülz into Cologne took place in 1888; the other parts of the city were incorporated in 1975 by the Cologne law . These previously belonged to the district of Cologne , which was partially merged into the Rhein-Erft district due to the last-mentioned regional reform .
The University of Cologne and the Melaten cemetery are located in Lindenthal . The Aachen and Düren street in the district Lindenthal and Berrenrather and the Luxemburger Straße in the district Sülz are among the largest and most important roads in the district, where many shops, businesses and schools are.
