After the fall of the Wall in 1989, the name was changed to TuS Neuruppin, before the original founding name MSV 1919 Neuruppin was adopted again.

On June 27, 2007, the MSV Neuruppin filed for bankruptcy.

On March 19, 2009, the former managing director of the Neuruppin municipal utilities and MSV vice-president Dietmar Lenz was sentenced to two years' imprisonment for serious breach of trust and the acceptance of benefits on account of having spent more than 500,000 euros on the supervisory board to support MSV Neuruppin sentenced on probation. He died of suicide at the end of 2009.

Sporty

The 1990/91 season , the last before being integrated into the all-German game operations, ended TuS Neuruppin as the last place in the newly formed Brandenburg State League (third-highest division this season). This was followed by nine years in the lower leagues Brandenburg before the end of the 1999/2000 season promotion to the Verbandsliga Brandenburg could be celebrated. Since the association league was won in the following season, the direct march into the league succeeded .

From the 2001/02 season to the 2006/07 season, MSV Neuruppin played uninterruptedly in the Oberliga Nordost (Staffel Nord) and reached eighth place twice, seventh place once and second place in 2004/05. With this second place and the simultaneous waiver of the first in the table, FC Hansa Rostock II , MSV Neuruppin was allowed to take part in the two relegation games for promotion to the Regionalliga Nord . Here, however, they lost to FC Carl Zeiss Jena with 0: 2 and 1: 2.

In the same season, the MSV secured the Brandenburg Cup with a 2-1 final win against SV Babelsberg 03 , with which Neuruppin qualified for the DFB Cup of the 2005/06 season. In the first round of the DFB Cup on August 21, 2005, the MSV of FC Bayern Munich was drawn. Because of the expected great interest in the audience in the first Cup participation of the Neuruppiners, the game took place in the Olympiastadion Berlin . Neuruppin lost the game in front of 33,200 spectators 0: 4 (0: 1). The coach of the Neuruppiner was the former Bundesliga professional Christian Schreier (331 Bundesliga games).

In the 2005/06 season Neuruppin took second place behind regional returners 1. FC Union Berlin. The 2006/07 season closed the team with the penultimate place in the North relay. Although they would have had the opportunity to continue playing in the league after a successful relegation (against FC Carl Zeiss Jena II), the club withdrew its team for financial reasons. The game operations in the Brandenburgliga were withdrawn from the MSV due to failure to report in due time. Only after a judgment by the Cottbus regional court was the MSV granted the right to start. However, since the bankruptcy proceedings were about to open, the club only exercised the right to play on paper, was the first to be relegated before the start of the point game and played as MSV Neuruppin II in the Brandenburg State League. After the team's formal relegation from the Brandenburg League, the MSV played with its first team in the Brandenburg State League from 2007/08. The 2nd team was withdrawn to the district league. After a strong second half in the 2008/09 season, the MSV rose again to the Brandenburgliga. The lead on a non-promotion place was 13 points. Reinforced with four newcomers, the team secured 8th place in the Brandenburg League in the 2009/10 season and won the 2010 district cup of the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district with the 2nd team this season . In the following years, the team established itself at the top of the Brandenburgliga and only narrowly missed promotion twice.
