GDR Football League 1990/91

The Brandenburg State League 1990/91 was the first season of today's Brandenburg League and the first since the last Brandenburg- wide football league of the GDR, which was held in 1951/52 . Since the reunification took place in the course of the season and the state of Brandenburg was restored as a federal state , the league served as a replacement for the previously existing district leagues at the third league level. As a result of the integration into the all-German league system , the winner qualified for the third-class Northeast football league next year . The Landesliga Brandenburg was classified as one of several fourth leagues in the league system after this season as Verbandsliga Brandenburg .

The FSV PCK Schwedt (formerly: BSG Chemie PCK Schwedt) was national champion in Brandenburg for the first time this season and was promoted to the northeast soccer league . In 1990 , FSV Velten won the runner-up, 1 point behind.

After the 24th matchday, SV Preußen Frankfurt (formerly BSG Semiconductor Factory Frankfurt) and TuS Neuruppin were relegated in 1990 and had to relegate to the district league.
