The Association League Brandenburg 1997/98 was the 8th season and the fourth as the fifth highest division in men's football.
The FC Energie Cottbus II was this season for the first time national champion in Brandenburg, an increase in the Oberliga Northeast on. The SV Schwarz-Rot Neustadt (Dosse) won the runner-up, 2 points behind.
After the 30th matchday, SpVgg Blau-Weiß Vetschau and ESV Lokomotive Cottbus were relegated and had to relegate to the state league.
