history

Men's soccer

The men's team initially played in the regional league and in 1973 were relegated to the regional league. After another association league term between 1975 and 1978, he made it into the Bremen upper house for the first time in 1980 after two consecutive promotions. Two relegations in a row brought the team back to the district league. It was not until 1987 that the promotion succeeded before the return to the Bremen upper house, now known as the Association League, in 1991 . After two years of relegation battle, the qualification for the newly created Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen succeeded in 1994 because the better placed clubs OT Bremen and TSV Lesum waived.

Relegation was only just missed. Four years later, he was again promoted to the league, which could not be held in the second attempt. Until 2004, the team stayed in the Bremen Association League . Since relegation in 2008, the team has played in the Bremen district league. In the 2011/12 season, the BTS won the regional league championship and was promoted to the sixth class Bremen regional league. Three years later, they were promoted to the Bremen league , with the Neustädter returning to the top division of Bremen.

Women's soccer

The soccer players of the BTS Neustadt achieved their first successes in the first half of the 1980s . In 1983 and 1984 , the team was each Bremen champion, but retired at the national level in the first round. Also in the 1980s, the team reached the DFB Cup four times, which also came out in the first round. In the 1983/84 season there was a 1:16 defeat at KBC Duisburg . After many years of insignificance, the team returned to the DFB-Pokal in 2006 and lost to VfL Wolfsburg 0:16 in the first round . With Christine Frai , the club provided a former FIFA referee.
