Christine Frai

Christine Frai (born September 25, 1965 in Bremen ) is a former German soccer referee .

biography

Frai is a trained export saleswoman. From 1980 to 1986 she was active as a player at BTS Neustadt in Bremen .

She obtained her first referee license in 1985. From 1991 she was a regular referee in the women's Bundesliga and in 1993 was the second woman to lead the final of the women's DFB Cup . In 1995 Frai was appointed FIFA referee and from the 1995/96 season she was, alongside Gertrud Rebus, one of the two women who were assigned to referee the third highest regional league for men. In 2004 Frai was the first German to receive a nomination for the soccer tournament of the Olympic Summer Games in Athens . In 2004 she directed over 100 Bundesliga games. She whistled until the 2006/07 season in the women's Bundesliga and in the men's Oberliga Nord.

Frai, Elke Fielenbach and the US-American Kari Seitz each led eight games of the German women's national soccer team and thus most of all referees. Today she is a referee observer at national and international matches.
