Franz-Josef Hontheim

Franz-Josef Hontheim (born August 13, 1938 - November 11, 2019 ) was a German football referee .

Hontheim, who comes from Trier , led a total of 84 games in the Bundesliga from 1970 to 1986 and a total of 77 games in this class from 1974 to 1986 when the 2nd Bundesliga began . He was also active as a line judge in the European Cup. Among other things, Hontheim led the DFB Cup semi-final in 1984 between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Werder Bremen .
