Alfons Berg

Alfons Berg (born October 10, 1955 ) is a former German football referee .

Life

Berg is a graduate engineer (FH), married, lives in Konz-Niedermennig and works as a laboratory engineer at Trier University of Applied Sciences .

Soccer

Alfons Berg has been referee for SV Tälchen Krettnach since 1974 . Between 1989 and 2002 Berg directed a total of 155 games in the first Bundesliga and from 1986 to 2002 a total of 81 games in the 2nd Bundesliga . 1997 Berg was referee of the year. He was in charge of the 2000 DFB Cup final , which FC Bayern Munich won 3-0 against Werder Bremen . In the game Hansa Rostock against Eintracht Frankfurt on May 16, 1992 in the 1991/1992 season, he rated a tackle by Rostock's Stefan Böger to Ralf Weber in the Rostock penalty area in the 77th minute as not worthy of a penalty. If the score was 1: 1, a converted penalty could have meant victory for Eintracht Frankfurt and thus the 1992 championship.
