Peter Gagelmann (born June 9, 1968 in Bremen ) is a former German football referee .

Life

Peter Gagelmann completed an apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker at Daimler-Benz in Bremen and then worked in production there. Today he is an employee in event management, he works in a customer center.

As a football player, he suffered a serious injury in his youth. He therefore shifted his sporting commitment to work as a referee in the service of ATSV Sebaldsbrück. In 1994 he was appointed DFB referee, in 1998 he directed a game in the 2nd Bundesliga for the first time . On April 27, 2000, the 32nd matchday of the 1999/2000 season , he made his debut in the Bundesliga in the encounter between MSV Duisburg and Arminia Bielefeld (0-3). On May 21, 2011 Gagelmann was the fourth official in a team led by chief referee Wolfgang Stark at the DFB Cup final .

On May 12, 2012, Gagelmann headed the DFB Cup final between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern Munich .

Gagelmann was also a referee abroad. For example, he whistled nine games in the South Korean K-League in 2003 and returned there in November 2007 to lead the league final between the Pohang Steelers and Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma . In the same year he had also directed a championship game in the Saudi Arabian city ​​of Jeddah .
