Eugen Strigel
Eugen Strigel (born September 24, 1949 ) from Horb am Neckar is a former German football referee .
Eugen Strigel directed 70 Bundesliga soccer games between 1987 and 1995 . At the end of his active career, he was allowed to whistle the 1995 DFB Cup final between Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg . Until May 2010 Strigel was the senior referee instructor for the DFB . For ZDF , Strigel commented on the referee services at the 2004 European Football Championship in Portugal and the performances of his former colleagues in the Bundesliga in the ZDF program The Current Sportstudio . He had to stop this activity, however, as this was criticized by colleagues at the chairman of the DFB referee committee, Volker Roth . His successor at ZDF was the former Swiss referee Urs Meier .
Since the 2008/2009 season, Eugen Strigel has been compiling the rule questions in the DFB referee newspaper, replacing Peter Gabor .
