Edgar Steinborn

Edgar Steinborn (born April 27, 1957 ) is a former German football referee .

Steinborn became DFB referee for SV Westum in 1985 and directed a total of 201 Bundesliga games from 1987 to 2004 . In 1997 he headed the DFB Cup final between VfB Stuttgart and Energie Cottbus (2-0).

From 1995 to 2002 he was a FIFA referee. He headed 13 senior internationals and 19 European cups.

Steinborn lives in Sinzig , is married and has a son. He is a qualified mechanical engineer.
