Bernd Reinhold Gerhard Heynemann (born January 22, 1954 in Magdeburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former football referee .

Life and work

After attending the Polytechnische Oberschule (POS), Heynemann completed vocational training with a high school diploma as an IT specialist from 1970 to 1973 . After that he did his military service in the NVA and began in 1975 to study business administration in Magdeburg, which he in 1979 as a Master of Business Administration ended. Heynemann then worked in the data center in Magdeburg, most recently as marketing manager. In 1992 he moved to the AOK Magdeburg as head of the public relations department .

Bernd Heynemann is married and has two children.

Football referee

Heynemann headed a total of 98 games in the GDR Oberliga from 1980 to 1991 and 151 Bundesliga games by 2001 . From 1988 to 1999 he was a referee in 14 full international matches and 42 European Cup matches. The highlights of his career were his participation in the 1996 European Football Championship and the 1998 World Cup , in which he led the games Colombia against Tunisia (1-0) and Italy against Norway (1-0). He had to end his referee career when he reached the age limit of 47 years.

His hometown club is SV Fortuna Magdeburg . Since April 2008 he has also been a member of Hertha BSC . Until August 2010 Heynemann was deployed as a referee observer at national (1st and 2nd Bundesliga ) and international ( UEFA Champions League ) level .

Political career

Before the fall of the Wall, Heynemann was a member of the SED . He joined the CDU in 1997 and has been a member of the CDU Federal Sports Committee since 1999. Since 2004 he has also been a member of the CDU state executive committee of Saxony-Anhalt .

Heynemann has been a member of Magdeburg's city ​​council since 1999 .

From 2002 to 2009 he was a member of the German Bundestag . Bernd Heynemann has always entered the Bundestag via the Saxony-Anhalt state list. His home constituency is Magdeburg .

Surprisingly, he was only voted 9th on the state list for the 2009 Bundestag election. He was a direct candidate for the CDU in the Bundestag constituency of Magdeburg (constituency 70), but missed re-entry into parliament with 31.0% of the first votes.

On April 21, 2015 Heynemann replaced Kay Barthel in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt . He remained a member of the state parliament until the end of the legislative period on April 12, 2016.
