Daniel Siebert (born May 4, 1984 in Berlin - Lichtenberg ) is a German football referee . Nominated for the first time as a Bundesliga referee for the 2012/13 season .

Life

Siebert is a sports scientist . He is a member of FC Nordost Berlin . He has been a referee since 1998 and was appointed DFB referee in 2007 . From 2009 he directed games in the second division . His first encounter in the German upper house of football was the match between FC Schalke 04 and FC Augsburg on September 1, 2012. He dealt three yellow cards.

Siebert succeeded Wolfgang Stark as FIFA referee in 2015 . He is the youngest of the ten German FIFA referees.

Siebert made his international debut on May 29, 2015, when he led the qualifying match for the U-19 European Championship between Portugal and Turkey. The first international match under his leadership was the match between Luxembourg and Moldova on June 9, 2015. He made his UEFA Champions League group stage debut on October 24, 2018 in Liverpool's 4-0 win over FK Red Star Belgrade .

Siebert lives in Berlin, where he works part-time as a teacher at the Hohenschönhausen sports school .
