Patrick Ittrich (born January 3, 1979 in Hamburg ) is a German football referee .

Career

Patrick Ittrich, who works full-time as a police officer  , has been a DFB referee for his home club, Mümmelmannsberger SV Hamburg, since 2003 . Since then he has led numerous games in the former Oberliga Nord (2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons), the former Regionalliga Süd (2007/08) and the current Regional League North (2003/04 and 2007/08 to 2011/12) and West (2008/09, 2011/12) and the 3rd division (since 2008/09). It has been used in the 2nd Bundesliga since the 2009/10 season and in the DFB Cup since the following season. As of October 26, 2013, he was in charge of 98 games, including six in the current 2013/14 season.

In addition to this activity as the first referee, where he moved up to the 1st Bundesliga in January 2016, Ittrich was also active as an assistant referee until his promotion to the Bundesliga . He has already played FIFA friendship games, qualifying games for the UEFA Champions League and matches in the UEFA Europa League and the Bundesliga , with alternating teams . In November 2011 Ittrich, together with the other assistants Holger Henschel and Frank Willenborg, saved the life of the main referee Babak Rafati . Before the Bundesliga game between 1. FC Köln and 1. FSV Mainz 05 , they found him in his hotel room and provided first aid after a suicide attempt . His first game as main referee in the 1st Bundesliga was on February 13, 2016 when VfL Wolfsburg played against FC Ingolstadt 04 . On May 26, 2017 he was in charge of the first leg of the relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga 2017/18 between Jahn Regensburg and TSV 1860 Munich .

Patrick Ittrich has suffered three cruciate ligament tears so far : in 1999 and 2000 in his left knee and in 2012 in his right knee during a sports unit on duty .
