Anja Kunick

Anja Kunick (born January 22, 1975 in Leipzig ) is a former German soccer referee and was managing director of the FF USV Jena from 2012 to 2014 . She whistled for the club SV 90 Lissa .

Career

Kunick was an active soccer player as a child and played for BSG Traktor Lissa from the age of six . Since there was no girls' team at Delitzsch in her hometown of Lissa , she switched to handball . She started playing again in the early 1990s, until two cruciate ligament tears ended her career.

After completing a referee course, she was a DFB referee from 2002 to 2012 and headed 88 games in the women's Bundesliga . In 2006, Kunick led the DFB Cup final between the 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam and the 1. FFC Frankfurt . A year later she became a FIFA referee and has since whistled in European Cups and international matches . In the men's division, Kunick led games up to the fifth-class Oberliga Nordost . On January 27, 2012, Kunick took over the vacant position as managing director at FF USV Jena . In the summer of 2012, she ended her referee career in order to concentrate fully on the FF USV Jena. At the 2012 U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan, she worked for FIFA as media officer. At the beginning of December 2013, she announced her departure from Jena with the expiry of her contract on January 31, 2014. Kunick has returned to her native Leipzig.
