The 1997 DFB Women's Cup was won by Grün-Weiß Brauweiler . For Brauweiler it was the third cup victory in the club's history. In the final, Eintracht Rheine was beaten 3-1. For the first time a team had to be disqualified. In the second round, Hertha 03 Zehlendorf used the suspended Ariane Hingst . The losing club Fortuna Sachsenroß Hannover moved into the second round at the green table.
