The Klinge Seckach sports club is a German women's football club from Seckach , a municipality in the Neckar-Odenwald district in the Heilbronn - Würzburg - Heidelberg triangle . For eight years, the club belonged to the women's Bundesliga before losing touch and relegated to lower-class leagues.

history

Logo of SV Schlierstadt

The club's roots lie with SV Schlierstadt, which first reported a women's team in 1969. For fun they wanted to play friendly games against existing women's teams from the area from time to time. In 1971 the game was officially started in the Buchen district league. In 1975 the club was first Baden champion and took part in the final round of the German championship. In 1977 the championship was won again and they only failed in the semifinals of the final round at the later runner-up, Colonel Schiel Frankfurt . In 1981 the women's soccer department went into business for itself under its current name. In 1982 the semi-finals of the German championship were reached again. This time they failed at FSV Frankfurt .

At that time, the SC dominated women's football in Baden almost at will. After 1983, when the national players Silvia Neid and Petra Bartelmann moved to SSG 09 Bergisch Gladbach , there were initially no successes. When the Bundesliga was founded in 1990 , the SC was still there. You always occupied places in the secured midfield. Klinge Seckach experienced the greatest day in the club's history on May 25, 1996, when they played for the DFB Cup in the Berlin Olympic Stadium . The final against FSV Frankfurt was unfortunately lost 2-1 after a big fight. At that time, the whole association made its way to Berlin . A year later they managed to qualify for the single-track Bundesliga, from which they had to relegate after one season.

The recovery was not made, so that the club continued to play in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. After many players had left the club or retired for reasons of age, they had to relegate to the association league. After the recovery you had to accept the relegation to the Baden Association League in 2006. For financial reasons, great importance is attached to working with young talent. In the 2009/2010 season they were promoted to the league again, from which they were relegated after only one year. Since then, the team has played continuously in the Baden Association League. At the beginning of the 2010/2011 season, games were also moved from Großeicholzheim to SV Muckental.

Name affix blade

The addition “Klinge” in the club name was derived from the host, the children's and youth village “Klinge” (a district of Seckach) when the club was founded. The youth village made its sports facilities available to the club for training and matches.
