Women's soccer

history

In 1975 the Jahn women won the first Lower Saxony championship, the second followed in 1979. Between 1991 and 1997, the team was four times champions of the Oberliga Nord and, together with Hamburger SV, are record champions in this class. In 1991, the team missed promotion to the Bundesliga only because of the goal difference . A 4-0 defeat against Grün-Weiß Brauweiler on his own pitch was the decisive factor. A year later they were more successful. With a 6-0 win against SSV Turbine Potsdam and thanks to the simultaneous 3-5 defeat of FC Rumeln-Kaldenhausen against STV Lövenich , the team was promoted. Without a win, however, the immediate relegation had to be accepted.

In 1994, 1995 and 1997 the team failed in the promotion round due to a possible Bundesliga return. Then the team played in the Regionalliga Nord, from which they relegated in 2013. Two years later, the rise succeeded. The Delmenhorstinnen benefited from the fact that the master of the Eastern relay Sparta Göttingen renounced the promotion. In 2017, TV Jahn was runner-up behind the second team from Werder Bremen in the regional league . Since Werder renounced the ascent, the Delmenhorstinnen moved up. Also in 2017, the Delmenhorstinnen again won the Lower Saxony Cup with a 3-1 final victory over TSV Limmer . A year later, the team rose due to a reform of the 2nd Bundesliga, the previously two-track league was converted into a single-track, back from the regional league.
