history
Schmalfelder SV was founded in 1927. The women's soccer department first made a name for itself in 1986 when the team won the Schleswig-Holstein Cup and took part in the finals of the German championship as the best team from Schleswig-Holstein. In both national competitions, however, was already the last sixteen. In the championship there were two major defeats against SSG 09 Bergisch Gladbach , while they lost 6-0 in the cup at KBC Duisburg . In 1989 they reached the final round of the championship for the second time. Again SSV was eliminated in the round of 16, this time against TSV Siegen . A year later they were more successful. In the championship, the SSV eliminated TuS Niederkirchen in the second round , but lost to Bergisch Gladbach in the quarter-finals. The SSV also reached the quarter-finals in the DFB Cup . After a victory over SC Poppenbüttel they were eliminated against VfR 09 Saarbrücken .
The SSV qualified for the new, two-track Bundesliga . In the first season, the team surprisingly finished fourth. In the following years the club became an elevator team. The first descent followed in 1992, but after a year they managed to climb back up directly. Again they stayed in the Bundesliga for two years before relegation for the second time. Once again, the SSV managed to gain direct promotion, but missed the qualification for the single-track Bundesliga. The SSV played another year in the Regionalliga Nord before they voluntarily withdrew. After several years in the district class, the lowest league in Schleswig-Holstein, the SSV made it to the district league in 2008.
