Nicole Werner

Nicole Werner (born August 16, 1972 ) is a former German soccer player and coach. From 2000 to 2007 she coached the Bundesliga club FFC Heike Rheine , until 2005 as a player coach .

Career

Nicole Werner started playing soccer at VfB Rheine at the age of eleven. For many years she was a regular player and in 1997 her team reached the final of the DFB Cup . Despite two tears of the cruciate ligament , she quickly fought her way back into the team. In 2000 she became a player-coach . In 2003 it led the team to victory in the DFB Indoor Cup , a year later the team sensationally finished third in the Bundesliga. She ended her active career in 2005 and became the team coach. She held this position until the end of the 2006/07 season, which ended with the club's relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga North.

Nicole Werner appeared eight times for the German U-18 national team.
