TuS Ahrbach (Turn- und Sportverein Ahrbach) is a sports club from Ruppach-Goldhausen in the Westerwald . As a sport, the club does gymnastics in addition to football and handball. The club became famous for its women's football .

history

The association was founded in 1921. Its women's football department has existed since 1976. At the end of the 1980s, the club was just about to win a title in German women's football, but in 1989 they failed in the final of the German championship at SSG 09 Bergisch Gladbach . In the DFB-Pokal they made it to the semi-finals in the same year, but then lost to FSV Frankfurt . With Marion Isbert , Jutta Nardenbach , Heidi Mohr and Ursula Lohn , the club also provided some national players.

In the mid-1990s, the successful era of women's football was drawing to a close. In 1997 TuS Ahrbach was relegated from the Bundesliga. In the next two years, the team was each champion of the Oberliga Südwest . During the 1997/98 season, the team was able to win all games. Both times the TuS failed in the promotion round to the Bundesliga. After several years in the middle of the table, the team rose in 2010 to the fourth-class Rhineland league. 2012 succeeded the return to the regional league, which was followed by the immediate relegation as bottom of the table.
