history

The ATSV was founded on July 10, 1874. After just eight years, on July 28, 1882, the association was dissolved. Three days later it was renamed the Ahrensburger Turner Bund v. Was re-launched in 1882. In 1883 the addition "v. 1882" was deleted. The first women were accepted in 1911. In 1943 the Ahrensburger Turnerbund, the Sportklub Ahrensburg and the Ahrensburg tennis and hockey club merged under the current name to form a large club. Three months after the end of the war, on August 23, 1945, men and women from Ahrensburg met in Hermann Brandt's inn to found a new sports club. The newly founded Ahrensburg gymnastics and sports club v. 1874 e. V. replaced the old association that had been dissolved by the military government.

successes

There were sporting successes especially in the handball, table tennis and athletics departments.

The handball men of the ATSV celebrated the Hamburg championship in 2003 and 2005 in the then fourth-class league and played in the 2003/04 season and from 2005 to 2007 in the third-class Regionalliga Nordost . The women's team played in the regional league in the 2002/03, 2004/05, 2006/07 and 2008/09 seasons and became Hamburg champions in 2004 and 2008. The women play in the new fourth-class Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein league in the 2010/11 season.

With Christopher Hallmann, the athletes made the German indoor champion in the heptathlon in 2010. In 2004, the decathlete Stefan Drews , who meanwhile started for TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen , took part in the Summer Olympics in Athens . The long jumper Nadja Käther , a member of the ATSV until 2009 and now at the start for Hamburger SV , became German junior champion in 2010 and German runner-up in women.

The footballers of the ATSV played in the 1957/58 season and from 1959 to 1962 in the Hamburg amateur league , which was the second highest division at the time.

The women's table tennis team, part of the TTG 207 syndicate with SV Großhansdorf, played under the name TSV Ahrensburg from 1981 to 1988 in the 2nd Bundesliga Group North, became champions there in 1988 and then played in the 1st Bundesliga for a year . 1989 followed the descent and another year in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2020/21 season, the first of eleven men's teams of TTG 207 will play in the Verbandsoberliga Nord, while the first of three women's teams will compete in the Hamburg League.

The basketball women of the ATSV played from 1983 to 1988, from 1990 to 1992 and in the 1994/95 season in the 2nd Bundesliga North . In 1995, due to personnel problems, further participation in the 2nd Bundesliga was waived and a new start in the Oberliga Hamburg was started. In the 2014/15 season, the promotion to the 1st Regionalliga Nord succeeded again .

Soccer

The league team of the ATSV played from 1955 to 1993 in the Landesliga Hammonia or Landesliga Hansa and was even able to celebrate promotion to the Hamburg amateur league and the Hamburg association league a few times . Then the ATSV announced the game operation and started again in the district class. After a few promotions, the league team returned to the national league in 1999. There you could not stay there and were relegated to the District League North. After one season, the entire team switched to city rivals SSC Hagen Ahrensburg . As a result, the ATSV no longer had a men's team available and there was a lot of criticism against city rivals Hagen. After 2 years a new team was founded and currently it plays in the District League East and is on the way up again, while the city rival is currently a bit behind.

Tent camp

Since 1957, the Ahrensburger TSV has offered youth leisure time on the island of Sylt every summer for all young members between the ages of eight and 15. In 2006 the 50th Sylt trip to the Hörnumer dunes took place.
