Christopher Hallmann

Christopher Hallmann (born June 6, 1983 in Essen ) is a former German decathlete .

Life

From 1994 to 1998 Hallmann trained in the youth of Grün-Weiß Schönebeck in Essen. In 1999 he joined TV Gladbeck in 1912 . For the first time this year he took part in the Youth Westphalia Championships, in which he scored 5675 points. The following year he became German B youth champion with 7158 points. In 2001 his career suffered a setback as he was unable to compete after having had a disc surgery . However, he came back and improved his best performance as the German A youth champion in 2002 to 7632 points. At the U20 World Championships in 2002 , he finished seventh, at the U23 European Championships in 2003, fifth.

Hallmann's most successful year so far was 2004. At the European Cup in Tallinn in July , he finished second with the team; in the individual ranking he was seventh with 7747 points. A few weeks later, with his personal best of 8045 points on September 5, 2004 in Vaterstetten, he became German champion. In addition, he was able to run a silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the junior championships.

In 2005 he was able to place himself in the top ten again at the U23 European Championships before another injury threw him back, due to which he could not compete in 2006. At the end of 2006 he switched to the Kiel TB, where he was trained by the Schleswig-Holstein regional trainer Hinrich Brockmann. In 2007 he was third in the German Championships; At the end of the year he was in 14th place on the German best list.

Since 2010 he started for the Ahrensburger TSV and celebrated his greatest success with the German indoor championship in the heptathlon. In 2012 he ended his competitive sports career.

Hallmann studied sports science and became an all-around trainer in Ulm in 2013.
