The Gymnastics Club Gladbeck is a multi-discipline sports club from Gladbeck ( Recklinghausen district ) founded in 1912 . In the basketball, handball, athletics, coronary sports, gymnastics, volleyball, fencing and karate departments, sport is offered to everyone for around 1,300 members. This makes the gymnastics club the second largest sports club in Gladbeck.

The athletics department, with its national successes, enjoys a considerable status in Gladbeck. The decathlete Christopher Hallmann was German champion in 2004 in the colors of the Gladbeck with 8,045 points. Christina Haack became German champion over 200 meters in 2011.

The volleyball department played with their first women's team since 2004 in the regional league and in the 2009/10 season and again from 2011 to 2018 in the second division . The first men's team commutes with mutual success between the Oberliga and the Regionalliga. In January 2007, the department was appointed the association base of the West German Volleyball Association (WVV).

In terms of sport, TV Gladbeck is primarily located in the Gladbeck stadium (athletics) on the one hand, and in the Artur-Schirrmacher-Halle (athletics, volleyball, etc.) on the other. The seat of the association is the office within the Artur-Schirrmacher-Halle.

The 12th edition of the Borsig meeting took place on May 23, 2015. This competition has been attracting a number of top athletes from all over Germany to Gladbeck since 2004. In 2015 there was a record participation of 650 athletes.
