Dirk Heyne (born October 10, 1957 in Magdeburg ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper and current soccer coach .
Player career
Heyne began his football career in 1967 in the children's team of 1. FC Magdeburg , to which he remained loyal as a goalkeeper until 1991. By winning the school championship in 1972 for the FCM, he won his first title. He played his first game for the FCM league team on the first match day of the 1977/78 season on August 13, 1977 in the match between FCM and 1. FC Union Berlin (1: 2). He was in goal in all 26 Bundesliga point games this season and was thus an immediate regular player. Heyne then became the undisputed number one goal in 1. FCM for 14 years.
His consistently good performance at FCM initially led to his inclusion in the squad of the GDR junior national team . From 1978 to 1979 Heyne played 14 international matches with her , and was runner-up at the U-21 European Championship in 1978 . Then he was taken over into the squad of the GDR national team . On February 11, 1979 he played there for his first international match when he was substituted on for the injured Bodo Rudwaleit in the 77th minute of the Iraq - DDR (2-1) encounter . After that he had to wait a long time for his next appearance in the national team, because initially he couldn't get past Rudwaleit and René Müller . It was only from August 23, 1989 (GDR - Bulgaria 1: 1) to April 11, 1990 (GDR - Egypt 2: 0) that he was a regular goalkeeper in the A-selection and so came to a total of nine A international matches. Before that, he had already played 14 international youth matches.
After 1. FC Magdeburg missed qualifying for the national leagues in 1991, Heyne left the FCM after 323 league games, 51 national and 34 European cup games and winning the GDR soccer cup three times . With the beginning of the football season 1991/92 Heyne joined the Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach . After playing there for a year in the reserve, he played a total of 24 games in the Bundesliga from 1992 to 1994. In the summer of 1994 Heyne ended his career as a competitive athlete.
Coach career
Until 2001 he worked for Borussia Mönchengladbach in various functions a. a. worked as a goalkeeper coach and then returned to Magdeburg. From 2003 he coached the 1st men's team of 1. FC Magdeburg. His greatest successes with FCM were the Regionalliga promotion in 2006, as well as third place in the 2006/2007 season, in which the club missed the march into the second Bundesliga at the last second. On December 9, 2007, Dirk Heyne was dismissed from the presidium due to the unsatisfactory first half of the season in the 2007/2008 regional league. From the 2008/2009 season, Heyne took over the coaching position of FC Sachsen Leipzig in the Regionalliga Nord . Shortly before the club went bankrupt again, Heyne was dismissed after a series of defeats at FC Sachsen Leipzig.
Since October 6, 2016, he has been training the regional league team Eintracht Norderstedt as the successor to Thomas Seeliger . He had previously worked there as a youth for four years. In April 2019 Heyne was given a leave of absence from the club after he slipped into the relegation zone in the final spurt of the 2018/19 season .
