The FC Elmshorn is a sports club from Elmshorn in Pinneberg . The first men's soccer team became champions of the Hamburg Oberliga in 2013 .

history

FC Elmshorn created on 1 July 2004 by the merger of the name turf sports antretenden football department of FTSV Elmshorn and the club Fortuna Langelohe . The merger was accompanied by internal quarrels, which were about competencies within the new club and some former Raspo officials withdrew angrily. In the first season, the team rose from the association league Hamburg and was passed through to the district league in the following season 2005/06. In 2008 they were promoted to the Hamburg regional league , before the team missed promotion to the Hamburg regional league three years later after losing a decider on penalties against TSV Sasel .

A year later, as champions of the Hammonia relay, they made the leap into the league, in which they would have qualified as first in the table for the promotion to the Regionalliga Nord in the 2012/13 season . The association decided not to take part for financial reasons. For economic reasons, the club withdrew from the league in mid-December 2014 , which means that the Elmshorns were relegated. All season games with Elmshorn participation were canceled.

Since 2015, the club has played in the Landesliga Hammonia again , from which the team was relegated in 2019.
