Achim Hollerieth (born September 24, 1973 in Pfullendorf ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper and current coach.

Career

Achim Hollerieth was a striker at FC Ostrach , TuS Celle , and SC Pfullendorf up to the A-youth . When all the goalkeepers were canceled at the Pfullendorfer Jugend, he was spontaneously converted to goalkeeper . He kept this position. For the 1996/97 season he moved to KFC Uerdingen 05 in the 2nd Bundesliga . After two seasons as a substitute goalkeeper, he became a regular player in 1998/99 and drew the attention of VfB Stuttgart , for whom he played in 1999/2000 . However , he was unable to prevail behind Franz Wohlfahrt and was even ousted as second goalkeeper by the young Timo Hildebrand . This was his only game in the Bundesliga in the 4: 2 against MSV Duisburg on September 18, 1999 .

He was therefore loaned to the second division club SV Waldhof Mannheim . After good performance, the SVW signed him. He was in goal for Waldhof from 2000 until his termination without notice in 2002. In the 2002/03 season he guarded the goal of SSV Reutlingen 05 , for which he only came on three missions.

So he finally accepted the offer of FC St. Pauli and moved to the Regionalliga Nord in 2003 . There he quickly became an undisputed regular player and crowd favorite. This is not least due to his excellent performances in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons.

By January 24, 2006 Hollerieth played a total of 90 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and 80 in the Regionalliga Nord in addition to his first division.

At the end of the 2005/06 season he did not renew his contract. He then spent two weeks in the trial training session in Bristol City and also completed two test matches during this time. Shortly before the contract was signed, Hollerieth tore a meniscus during training , so that the deal did not materialize. Back in Germany, he had to undergo two operations. From September 15, 2007 Achim Hollerieth played at SV Straelen in the Oberliga Nordrhein . During the winter break, however, he left Straelen again and moved back to the Regionalliga Nord for VfB Lübeck in January 2008 . For the 2008/09 season he moved from VfB Lübeck to the Swiss club FC Schaffhausen .

Since the 2010/11 season, Hollerieth was the coach of SV Meppen's A youth team, who played in the regional league. This was Hollerieth's first head coach position. Before that he gained experience in the international coaching business together with Frank Pagelsdorf in Dubai as a goalkeeping coach at the Arab Al-Nasr Sports Club . Hollerieth is also the athletic director of the Emsland youth performance center. For the 2012/13 season he moved to the Oberliga newly promoted FC Elmshorn . He led the club to win the title in the Oberliga Hamburg , but they waived the regional league promotion. On March 26, 2014, he became coach of VfB Germania Halberstadt in the Regionalliga Nordost , before he was released on November 22, 2014, after around 8 months in Halberstadt . In July he went to Fürstenwalde in Brandenburg , but after an amicable separation he only stayed there until mid-December of the same year. Then he went to Neustrelitz in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . There he was released after poor performance and recently three defeats in a row. On October 20, 2019, he was introduced as the new trainer at TB Uphusen . After earning eleven points after ten games, he left the club in March 2020 and took over the coaching position at FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen in Hamburg , where he succeeded Sören Titze .
