Daniel Jurgeleit

Daniel Jurgeleit (born December 15, 1963 in Ratingen ) is a former German soccer player . With 117 goals, he is in the all-time list of goalscorers in the 2nd Bundesliga . He is currently working as a football coach at SC Weiche Flensburg 08 .

Career

Daniel Jurgeleit started playing football in the youth of Fortuna Düsseldorf , where he went through all years and later wanted to recommend himself to the professional squad via the second team. From 1982 he played for Union Solingen in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the 1982/83 season he was still used in midfield , later mainly as a striker . From 1983 he was used in almost all of his club's games.

In 1988 Jurgeleit moved to FC 08 Homburg and with this club made it to the Bundesliga . The club was unable to establish itself there and ended up in last place. For FC Homburg he scored 38 goals in 162 games.

In 1993 Jurgeleit left FC 08 Homburg and signed a contract with SpVgg Unterhaching , which had just been relegated to the Oberliga Bayern . After rising again in 1994, he moved to VfB Lübeck , who played in the Oberliga Nord at the time. In 1995 he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, in which he played a total of 393 games, two years later he moved to the regional division Eintracht Braunschweig and in 1999 finally to Holstein Kiel . In 2003 Jurgeleit ended his playing career there at the age of 39 for a football player. In February 2003 Jurgeleit was appointed to the position of sporting director for competitive football at Holstein Kiel, which he held until his resignation on October 2, 2006.

From November 2008 to December 2009 he coached the Schleswig / Holstein association league club VfR Horst . After the withdrawal of a sponsor and the loss of the prospect of promotion to the Schleswig-Holstein League , he ended his engagement by mutual agreement. At the beginning of 2010 Jurgeleit was the responsible coach of the national league club FC Elmshorn .

In August 2010, the Ratinger took over the coaching position at ETSV Weiche Flensburg (since July 2017 SC Weiche Flensburg 08 ). In the 2011/12 season he was promoted to the Regionalliga Nord with the ETSV as runner-up in the Schleswig-Holstein League. In January 2014, he won the two indoor tournaments Team Cup in the Flens-Arena in Flensburg and the Lotto Indoor Masters in the Sparkassen-Arena in Kiel with ETSV Weiche . With SC Weiche Flensburg 08 he won the championship in the Regionalliga Nord in May 2018 and unsuccessfully took part in the promotion games to the 3rd division. At the end of the 2019/20 regional league season , Jurgeleit will leave office as the third-senior head coach in the top four leagues in Germany at his own request.
