The VfR Horst (officially: Association for Lawn Sports Horst from 1946 eV ) is a sports club from the municipality of Horst (Holstein) in the Steinburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . The club owns divisions for soccer and badminton .
Football department
The men's soccer team of the club was promoted to the Schleswig-Holstein League in 2008 after many years of membership in the lower divisions . In the 2008/09 season the club reached 15th place there, which meant the direct relegation. The VfR Horst played since then in the Schleswig-Holstein Association League West , interrupted by the 2011/12 season, in which the club only played in the district league. In 2017 the Horster qualified for the newly created Landesliga Holstein . After the team of coach Florian Rammer was relegated in the 18/19 season, VfR was able to place itself in 4th place in the Verbandsliga West in the first half of the new season. This continued until the corona pandemic. According to the regulation of the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association, the VfR barely rose.
Referee Department
The referee department of the VfR Horst's was a problem of the VfR for 4 years. However, the referee did not give up. With his strong will, he managed to encourage 2 young players from the youth, one player from the old men and one person to successfully master the referee candidate course within 2 months. And this didn't stop. A year later he managed to win another 3 referees for the club through good contact with other clubs. In the meantime they have grown together so strongly that they are the only group in the area that also trains together in order to always stay up to date and fit.
