history

Before the game in the 1st main round of the 2013/14 DFB Cup in the Osnatel-Arena in Osnabrück.

The club was founded by 37 people from Rehden at the founding meeting on June 21, 1954 and started playing with a men's and a youth team. As early as 1957, the men's team became champions in the district class and thus rose to the district class. In August 1977, a game between the Bundeswehr team and the then second division VfL Osnabrück took place on the sports field of the BSV Rehden, and the club recorded a new attendance record of over 1000 visitors.

The club achieved its first successes beyond the district level in the 1990s, when the club rose from the district league to the Lower Saxony League West and won the district cup three times during this time. In the 2009/10 season the BSV Rehden was able to qualify for the single-track Oberliga and in the 2011/12 season the club was even able to qualify for the new five-track regional league with fourth place. The club's second team plays in the Hannover 1 district league.

On August 1, 2013, the American Bryan Jordan was signed , the largest transfer in the club's history. Jordan is a two-time MLS Cup winner and played 58 games in Major League Soccer for the Los Angeles Galaxy . Four years later, the Rehdener were relegated as the third from last, but remained in the 3rd division regional league through the promotion of SV Meppen . Another year later, with 15th place in the table, another sporting descent followed. However, since Eintracht Braunschweig relegated to the 3rd division, their second team had to relegate to the upper division and Rehden held the class again.

DFB Cup

In 2003, the team qualified for the 1st main round of the 2003/04 DFB Cup , in which they lost 5-1 to the then Bundesliga club TSV 1860 Munich . This was the club's first game against a professional team. Ten years later they qualified again for the DFB Cup competition. This time they met in the first main round of the FC Bayern München and lost at the sold-out Bremer bridge in Osnabrück with 0: 5th By making it to the state cup final in 2014, the club qualified for the DFB Cup again. Here they played against VfR Aalen in the first round and lost 3: 4 on penalties.

Teams

The BSV is represented in the championships with three men's teams. In addition to the first team in the Regionalliga Nord, the U-23 of the club plays in the 2nd district class south of the Diepholz district and the new U-21 in the 3rd district class south of the Diepholz district. The youth consists of F to D youth and belongs to the BSV. From the C-youth, the youth work takes place in the youth development association Rehden-Wetschen-Diepholz (JFV RWD).
