history

1894 to 1953

The SV Blau Weiß Zorbau emerged from the gymnastics and sports club Zorbau (TuS Zorbau) founded in 1894. Until the club was banned in 1938, athletes from the gymnastics club took part in regional and national competitions, including the German Gymnastics Festival in 1934 in Frankfurt am Main . However, the club only came to football decades later and played with several youth and men's teams in the Weißenfels district. Home of the club was the current sports facility of the FSV Blau-Weiß Borau . After the Second World War , the sports club was re-established in 1953 with the sports fans from Keutschen as Dynamo Hohenmölsen .

1954 to 1990

In GDR times , the club played from 1954 under the name BSG Traktor Zorbau among others in the Halle district class . In 1956, a new sports field was built in Zorbau, as the old homestead was now outside the municipal area due to the district reform in 1953. The first massive sports home was built from demolition material from the village of Mutzschen in 1958/59, which was expanded for the first time in 1989 on the occasion of the 900th anniversary celebrations. After 1990 the club got its current name.

1990 to 2011

In 1990 the new SV Blau Weiß Zorbau joined the German Football Association and the State Sports Association of Saxony-Anhalt . After the reunification they played in the 1st district class in Weißenfels until 1995. Then the club rose to the Weißenfels district league, where they played from the 1995/96 to 1998/99 season. In the 1998/99 season, Blau Weiß Zorbau was then champion in the Weißenfels district league and rose to the national class, in which he played until the 2010/11 season.

2011 until today

In 2011, the team rose as champions in the Landesliga Süd. In 2014 the club celebrated its 120th anniversary with a game against FC Carl Zeiss Jena and a four-country tournament. In the 2015/16 season, Blau-Weiß was runner-up in the regional league. In the relegation against the runner-up of the Landesliga Nord, Germania Olvenstedt , it was about promotion to the Association League Saxony-Anhalt . In the first relegation game, the Zorbauer had to go to Olvenstedt, but this game was clearly won. (Germania Olvenstedt 0: 5 SV Blau-Weiß Zorbau) And also in the second game the home side were able to prevail in front of their own audience and thus celebrate their promotion to the association league. (SV Blau-Weiß Zorbau 4: 0 Germania Olvenstedt) In the association league season 2017/18, the club played an impressive first half of the season without defeat and became autumn champions, at the end of the season they were in second place in the table with 19 wins, 10 draws and only 1 loss. In the same year, the blue-whites even made it to the semi-finals of the State Cup of Saxony-Anhalt . Where you could beat the Oberliga team of SG Union Sandersdorf 2-1 in the round of 16 . And also in the quarter-finals the Zorbauer got to do with a top division team, the TV Askania Bernburg could then be defeated 3-2. In the semifinals they had to admit defeat to 1. FC Lok Stendal 0: 1. As runner-up in the 2017/18 Association League, the club was promoted to the Oberliga Nordost for the first time . After a year in the league, the club had to relegate as bottom of the table in the Association League Saxony-Anhalt. After the 2019/20 season had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the club, which was actually only in second place in the table, rose again to the top division, as the first-placed club waived promotion.
