Hartmut Pelka (born March 11, 1957 in Hohenmölsen ; † July 23, 2014 in Braunsbedra ) was a German football player.

Athletic career

Hartmut Pelka started playing soccer at the BSG activist Großgrimma in 1963 . In 1968 he moved to HFC Chemie for six years through BSG Traktor Zorbau .

At the age of seventeen he joined the East German league relegated chemistry Leipzig for the 1974/75 season . The Leipzig team qualified with their relay victory for the promotion round, in which they made the return to the upper house perfect with second place. Pelka played all games and scored twenty goals. With his 18 goals in the group stage, he was also top scorer in the league Season C . In the Oberliga 1975/76 season, knee surgery forced him to take a longer break for the first time. In the end, he only made five missions, and after a year Chemie was relegated back to the GDR league . Pelka was able to build on its old performance level again in the 1976/77 season and scored eight goals in thirteen games. After the relay victory, he was delegated to BFC Dynamo despite the promotion round still outstanding .

In the 1977/78 season , which the BFC finished in third place, Pelka came on twenty missions and scored eight goals. With the 1978/79 season , in which the BFC began its one-time series of successes (10 titles in a row), Pelka scored four goals in twenty missions. The FDGB Cup final was also reached, but there was a defeat against 1. FC Magdeburg . The 1979/80 season should be his best in the league, because he scored 15 goals in 24 games, and the BFC was able to defend its championship title from the previous year thanks to a win on the last match day against Dresden. At the international level, he made six appearances in the European Cup , scoring three goals. In the summer of 1980 he had to undergo knee surgery again and came in the 1980/81 season only in the second half of the season to three short missions. On the last five match days, Pelka played for the second team of BFC Dynamo and helped them win the junior league with four goals .

In the 1981/82 season Pelka was still in the squad of the now three-time champion, but it was no longer enough for a mission. On medical advice, he ended his sporting career at the end of the season at the age of 25 and became a member of the coaching staff of the BFC youth team.

From 2007 to 2009 he was assistant coach at SV Braunsbedra .

Hartmut Pelka, who lived with a donor kidney, died in July 2014 after suffering from cancer for a long time. He left behind his wife and two adult sons.
