Marco Förster (born April 23, 1976 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) is a German football player .
Career
Förster began his career in the youth of VfB Leipzig . In 1995 he made the leap into the professional team and played a total of 19 times for Leipzig in the second division over the next two years . He made his debut in the 2-1 win against Chemnitzer FC on August 4, 1995. In the 1997/98 season he also played in the second division for FSV Zwickau . After two years in the regional league for FC Sachsen Leipzig and Eisenhüttenstädter FC Stahl , he moved to Akratitos Ano Liosia in the second Greek league ( Beta Ethniki ) in 2000 . Until 2004 he played for various Greek second division clubs, then he moved to AE Larisa , with whom he was promoted directly to the Greek Super League in 2005.
In the next three years he became a regular player in the first division and in 2007 even won the Greek Cup with his team . In the 2007/08 season he was used three times in the UEFA Cup . First in the two games of the preliminary round, in which the Blackburn Rovers were eliminated, and finally in the intermediate round against Everton . At the end of the season he moved to AE Paphos in the First Division in Cyprus. From 2009 he played again in the second Greek division with Anagennisi Karditsa . In 2010 he returned to Germany and was active for FC Oberlausitz Neugersdorf in the sixth class Landesliga Sachsen in the 2010/11 season . Since the beginning of the 2013/2014 season, Marco Förster has been playing for the state division club SV See 90 in East Saxony.
