Athinaikos Athens ( Greek Αθηναϊκός Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος , Athinaikós Gymnastikós Sýllogos , "Athenian gymnastics club" , unofficially also Athinakós Výrona ) is a Greek football club based in Vyronas , a municipality on the north-western edge of the Athina area.

It was founded in 1917 and merged with Nea Elvetia in 1950 .
In the 1990/1991 season, the club reached the final of the Greek Cup , but lost there against Panathinaikos Athens 3-0 in the first leg, the 2-1 in the second leg could not make up for the deficit.
Since Panathinaikos then as a Greek champion European Cup champion took, Athinaikos came in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup . But there they lost in the first round to Manchester United . Athinaikos scored 0-0 in the first leg, but the second leg was lost 2-0. Nowadays the club plays in the Greek fourth division.
