The Secretaría de la Función Pública (SFP) is the political “secretariat (of the government) for the civil service in Mexico . The office is in Mexico City . As a government secretariat, it is comparable to a ministry at the highest government level of a state.

In 1983 the “Secretariat of the General Control of the Federation ” ( Secretaría de la Contraloría General de la Federación ) was established. In 1994 it was reorganized and renamed the "Secretariat for Control and Administrative Management" ( Secretaría de Contraloría y Desarrollo Administrativo ), before it was given its current name in 2003.

The SSP is divided into three sub-secretariats ( Subsecretaría ) "civil service" ( Función Pública ) and "control and audit of the civil service" ( Control y Auditoría de la Función Pública ) and for civil work and normativity that Subsecretaría de Atención Ciudadana y normatividad .
