The Secretaría de Programación y Presupuesto (SPP) was a political "secretariat (of the government) for programs and budgets" in Mexico founded in 1958 under President Adolfo López Mateos . As the government secretariat, it was comparable to a ministry at state government level.

The original founding name of the Secretariat, which served the direct planning and administrative support of the government, was Secretaría de la Presidencia de la República . The renaming of the secretariat in connection with an expansion of the area of responsibility took place in 1976 by President José López Portillo .

In 1992, President Carlos Salinas de Gortari dissolved the secretariat and handed some of the tasks over to the financial secretariat, the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público (SHCP).
