Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes
The Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT) is the political "secretariat (government) for communication and transport" in Mexico . As a government secretariat, it is comparable to a ministry of a state government, i.e. a post and transport ministry .
It was founded in August 1891 as the "Postal Secretariat " ( Secretaría de Comunicaciones ). In 1920 the area of responsibility was expanded to include responsibility for public construction and the secretariat was renamed Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Obras Públicas (SCOP). It has had its current name since 1959.
The SCT is divided into three sub-secretariats ( Subsecretaría ) for “Communication”, “Transport” ( Planeación Turística ) and “Innovation and Quality” ( Innovación y Calidad ). The corporation for state road and bridge construction Caminos y Puentes Federales is subordinate to him.

The office of a “secretario” / a “secretaria” of the government in Mexico is comparable to that of a minister in a state government.
