SECTURE

The Secretaría de Turismo (SECTUR) is the political "secretariat (government) for tourism " in Mexico . As a government secretariat, it is comparable to a ministry of a state government.

SECTUR was founded in 1975 under President Luis Echeverría to promote tourism in Mexico. It is divided into three sub-secretariats ( Subsecretarías ) for "Tourism Actions" ( Operación Turística ), "Tourism Planning " ( Planeación Turística ) and "Innovation and Quality" ( Innovación y Calidad ).
